This book deals with the prenatal development which begins from fertilization (conception) till birth. The text has been oversimplified so that development process of various body tissues, organs and systems can be well understood. Most of the pictures of the book are colored and of the patients with congential defects supplemented with ultrasound pictures and all these are well correlated with the text of the book for proper understanding of the prenatal developmental process to make it student friendly. The basics of molecular regulation, signaling and genes responsible for the development of system/organs/body axes have also been included for proper understanding of developmental events. A chapter on Basic Genetics has been added in this book which includes fundamentals of genetics and genetic basis of congential defects and diseases and their pattern of inheritance.
