Treatment

There is no specific antiviral treatment for COVID-19.  Symptomatic treatment should be given to relieve fever, cough, and breathing problem.

There are strong indications of Chloroquine being effective in COVID-19.

Since year 1971, I have been treating all fever cases with Chloroquine. Malaria, Viral fever, Dengue fever, Swine flu, Chickungunia – all responded to Chloroquine. In sequence, COVID-19 the new avtar of fever should respond to Chloroquine.

I am no authority in Corona Virus. Yet with huge experience as Clinician, Corona Virus morbidity can be curtailed with following remedies :-

1.       Chloroquine single dose of 800mg base (two double strength tablets). Every person should take Chloroquine as preventive measure. Single dose is sufficient in endemic population. Currently entire world is endemic for COVID-19.

2.       In cases with respiratory illness, Crystalline penicillin (Pencillin G sodium or Benzyl penicillin) 600mg or 1 megaunit in intravenous infusion followed by 0.5 megaunit intravenously or intramuscularly every 4-6 hours.

3.       Paracetamol and cough sedative for symptomatic relief.

4.       Immunity booster such as GUDUCHI 1 500 mg tablet twice a day for a month.

Drug Mafia killed Americans with Chloroquine on Television

Iodochlorohydroxyquinoline, having saved millions of lives in India, was banned with reports of 4 cases of Submyelo-opticoneuropathy (SMON) in Japan. Fortunately the drug is still available and most effective in amoebiasis.
Dr Mandhir Kumar, Gastroenterologist in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital missed Piperazine - the most effective antihelmintic drug extensively used in India during Penicillin era. At a Gastroenterology meet in Maharaja Agrasein Hospital, I found some more gastroenterologists missing Piperazine. I could not find reasons behind ban on Piperazine.

Kerala Heart Surgeon Dr Jimmy Cherion suggested use of Crystalline penicillin. He only received shout-backs of Chloroquine deaths in USA. 

FOR HALF A CENTURY, Pharmaceutical Industry has been dishonest in New Drug Development. Costly toxic (cancer producing) drugs promoted and cheap magic remedies banned through TABLE RESEARCH. In my interview for post of Assistant Director (P&I) ICMR, I cited a research article published by a Mangalore Professor in ANTISEPTIC Journal. Observation tables and Results dis not match arithmetically. On my objection, the learned researcher MODIFIED OBSERVED VALUES to in order to justify results. Clearly TABLE RESEARCH to document Sponsored results.   
LIFE SAVING Ayurvedic / Homoeopathic injections were banned because Nation had no known Standards to evaluate eligibility for marketing. Any SENSIBLE Government should have developed new set of Standards. Pratap Pharma VISHMANT injection could have surely defeated Corona. AND STANDARD EVALUATION SHOULD APPLY ONLY TO NEW PERMISSIONS - NOT TO PRODUCTS IN MARKET FOR DECADES.

Azithromycin is not a mandatory constituent of Combo - any Gram positive effective antibiotic can be used instead.  Where is need to evaluate/use Chloroquine in a combination???????????????
Hydroxychloroquine is variant of Chloroquine never seen by me and RARELY used in India.
VENTRICULAR ARRHYTHMIA may be attributed to Azithromycin.
Let us evaluate the utility of Chloroquine alone - not its variant or its role in a combination. I find Decision Makers positively HATING Chloroquine.

Chloroquine is safe drug extensively tried in India.

Potential Remedies

1.      Pratap Pharma VISHMANT injection could have defeated Corona Virus. Unfortunately Allopathic and Homoeopathic injections were politically banned. Unable to bear Government wrath, Pratap Pharma was shut down. VISHMANT injection could be Life saving in Malaria, Viral fever, Dengue fever, Swine flu, Chikungunya, Corona virus.

2.      Chirakin (Zandu) tablets should be tried. It may be a wonder remedy in Corona Virus. With ANY fever, cough, sneezing take 1 tablet thrice a day for 7 days. For prevention of Malaria, Viral fever, Dengue fever, Swine flu, Chikungunya, Corona Virus, take 1 tablet thrice a day for 3 days.
