Curriculum Development by Dr T
Mrunalini Rs300 ISBN: 9788183163491
The foremost aim of my effort is to equip the student teachers with
a resourceful guide on Curriculum Development. This book covers all topics
of 'Curriculum Development' which has been prescribed in the Tamilnadu
Teachers Education University, Tamilnadu. I am hopeful and fully confident
that this book, in its present form, will be very helpful to the B.Ed students.
Curriculum Development is one of the most important components of Education
process. It is a very complex, ongoing and never ending process and it
needs great attention. Framing of curriculum at various levels of education
is a co-operative effort of curriculum experts, educationists, teachers,
parents, students and voluntary agencies. I strongly believe that educators
and teachers need to possess a strong framework from which the curriculum
for pupils may be envisioned and brought forth. With the advent of ICT
revolution, globalization and economic reforms it is imperative to resort
curriculum reform. It is highly imperative that the educational curriculum
be paid the highest attention, as it shapes the way education is received
by students. Frequently teachers have little knowledge about their role
in curriculum development. Being a teacher educator, I realised the importance
of curriculum development and made an attempt to explain the various aspect
of curriculum development. This book talks about the concepts, meaning,
definition and types of curriculum. This book also discusses foundations
of curriculum and provides the basic tasks for Curriculum Development and
Curriculum Designing. Due importance is given for on various approaches
of curriculum Development, Curriculum Transaction and Outcomes of curriculum
Evaluation in this book. |

For Teaching And Learning by Learning), Tl (Teaching and / Tl / Hughes,
Julia Christensen : USD25.87 ISBN: 9780470278512
Collectively, the authors in this volume present the context and catalysts
of higher education curriculum reform, advocate for the Scholarship of
Curriculum Practice (SoCP), provide examples of curricular assessment and
development initiatives at a variety of institutional levels, suggest that
educational developers can provide much support to such processes, and
argue that this work has profound implications for the faculty role. Anyone
involved in curriculum assessment and development will find food for thought
in each chapter.
Faculty within institutions of higher education are increasingly being
asked to play leadership roles in curriculum assessment and reform initiatives.
This change is being driven by quality concerns; burgeoning disciplinary
knowledge; interest in a broader array of learning outcomes, including
skills and values; and growing support for constructivists pedagogies and
learning–centered, interdisciplinary curricula. It is essential that faculty
be well prepared to take scholarly approach to this work. To that end,
this issue presents the frameworks used and lessons learned by faculty,
administrators, and educational developers in a variety of curriculum assessment
and development processes.

Schools As Curriculum
Agencies: Asian And European Perspectives On School-based Curriculum Development
by Law, Edmond H. F. / Nieveen, Nienke : USD59.00 ISBN: 9789460912795
Over the last decades, school-based curriculum development (SBCD) has
been widely applied in many countries to bring about innovations in schools
and classrooms. The notion of SBCD and its practice, albeit the diversity
in terms of policies and cultures in different countries, stems from the
need for a more participatory educational system, responsive to local concerns.
This book provides readers with an update of the concepts related to SBCD
and vivid cases about how SBCD has been conceived and implemented in six
Asian countries (including China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore and
Taiwan) and seven European countries (including Austria, England, Finland,
Germany, Ireland, Sweden, and The Netherlands). The differences and commonalities
in rationales and practices within and between the Asian and European continents
make stimulating, new comparisons possible, elaborating and deepening the
knowledge base about SBCD. This is a timely collection for school leaders
and teachers, policy makers, support groups, educational researchers and
students, especially in the domain of curriculum studies. |
