What a way to promote your appraisal business!

08 September 2010
Hello,
How much do you want for your domain?
We have found it listed for sale and we have a good offer for you.
Our company invests in domains and developed sites. If you have a list of
domains for sale, please send the list with prices in plain text.
We prefer ".com", ".net", ".co", ".co.uk", ".us" and easy-to-remember
names with other extensions.
Regards,
Tim Swieckowski
Vice President
Web Hosting & Name Business LLC

Can you accept 4,500 USD for the following package:
> ussupermall.net US$2000
> ussupermall.net US$1500
> ussupermall.net US$1500
> russiamall.net US$500
> australiamall.net US$500
I have a 24,000 USD budget for 10-12 domain names. Have you had your domain
names evaluated in the past? Without a valuation certificate we cannot be
sure in the sale price. Moreover, my accountant and tax services always ask
for valaution certificates :-). On the other side, it's very important for
me in terms of reselling too. Of course, we must engage a valuation company
with a REAL manual service. So I will only accept valuations from
independent sources I and my accountant trust.
To avoid mistakes I asked domain experts about reputable appraisal
companies. Please check this blog with suggestions from other sellers and
buyers:

Hi folks, I am going to invest money in several good names. I don't want to overpay so third party valuation is a must. Investing in good names is a new business for me. Can someone recommend me good appraisers? NameSeller
Many Internet users are not smart enough and popular domain brokers are using this fact to make money. They offer them cheap appraisal services. But if their customers would have something in their heads they'd understand experts could not make a professional research for $15-$20. These appraisals are made by machines. Easy money for such appraisers as http://www.Afternic.com and several other major brokers that offer cheap auto-generated appraisals. So don't use Afternic.com! In my eyes, all services under $50-$55 are not manual and the results are generated by special scripts. I don't trust auto-generated appraisals. I may recommend you http://www.CertifiedDomainValue.com They provide very fast support and good service. Their appraisals are reasonable and are based on quality of your name and current market prices. They have good reviews too. Manual service is always better. I sent you several of my names  Have you received them?

Don Williams

Swieckowski,
I sent you my domain portfolio with appraisals. Thank you NameSeller for suggestion. Their appraisal service is really very good and fast. Please let me know your decision on my names.
P.S.  I tried to list 10 of my domains with http://www.CertifiedDomainValue.com and http://www.GreatDomains.com. Will let you know the results later.

Swieckowski

Hi Don Williams,
I will buy those three dot com names we discussed previously. I've alredy sent $4,100 to your PayPal account. Please check it. Hope this is a smart investmenet. I did not hear about these companies before but their appraisals are reasonable enough. Thank you. I offer you to split the transfer costs 50% / 50%. Do you want to use escrow service?

Don Williams

Swieckowski,
I see your payment in my PayPal account. We can use Escrow.com. If you want to use Escrow.com you'll have to pay the escrow fee. Anyway, it's nice to do business with you. Thank you very much again.

Don Williams

2 of 10 names were sold through http://www.CertifiedDomainValue.com and one name through http://www.GreatDomains.com during the last week.  I was really impressed :-)  because I wasted several months with other brokers. Thanks NameSeller again for the suggestion of this broker. I hope to sell other names during the next  two months :-). I will also try to list some of my names with http://www.HollywoodDomains.com

If, for example, the valuation comes higher you can adjust your asking price
accordingly.  It will be fair. I also hope you can give me 12% - 15%
discount.
After you send me the valuation via email (usually it takes 1-2 days to
obtain it) we'll continue our negotiations.
What is your preferred payment method:  Escrow.com, International wire
transfer, PayPal.com or something else?
Hope we can come to an agreement fast.
Looking forward to your reply.

Hi!
1. Prices are not negotiable and based upon my own evaluation. No external
evaluation offered by me.
2.
Please pay 25% value in through Paypal, alongwith your contact information
and desired nameservers for the domain.
Domain shall be transferred to your name in new account without access
information. You may use the domain immediately, for maximum 30 days. No
refund, if balance is not paid. Amount may however, be adjusted in other
purchases.
On receipt of balance amount, domain account login shall be sent to you.
You may continue to use same account or transfer the domain at will.

Dr K Chaudhry

As a seller you should provide me with an appraisal first. This is a
reasonable practice.

I've found not all the appraisals are accurate. So I accept real manual
appraisals from trusted sources only.

I don't trust $14-$20 services. Nobody will do a research for $14. We need a
real manual service.

I researched several companies and here are the results:

I  wanted to use AccurateDomains.com but looks like this company has a bad
reputation.

I also considered www.Afternic.com, but now it's clear their service is not
reliable enough.
Just read this:
"Afternic Appraisals really SUCK!!!"
http://www.discussnames.com/showthread.php?t=13311
"Capsule Review: After lots of complaints, Afternic is no longer a
recommended service. We will re-review the service in the near future."

I was told about manual research service from http://www.DomainMart.com. It
costs - $200/hour.

Many experienced sellers suggested us http://www.CertifiedDomainValue.com as
a trustworth manual service. They charge per name not per hour. We've read
only positive comments about them. And I have my own positive experience
with this company and their support.

Hi!
I have no urgency or emergency to sell the domains. The domains are in
use - some with me for over a decade - and I can continue using those for
rest of my life. I feel any purchaser would use his own appraiser before
purchasing.
Regards
Dr K Chaudhry

It's a big risk to proceed without professional valuation. I already spoke
to industry experts and they prohibited me to do business without
valuation..
Without manual valuation nobody will buy. You'll sit on your domain for
years in this case, paying renewal fees to your registrar. Just think about
it. So sooner or later, you'll have to obtain an appraisal. Why waste time
now?
As a seller, you can use a valuation certificate to sell names to other
buyers. I cannot do the same because I don't keep control over your domain.
I'm still interested in your domain. Hope you'll change your position. I
simply don't want to take additional risks.
Thank you for understanding. I'm looking forward to do business with you.

Hi!
The domains are in use and continued usage is first option.
Selling domain is only second option.
Prices are based upon my affordability of losing the domains. No one would
suggest me how much compensation I require.
Sorry, I do not want to continue learning importance of appraisal.
Regards
Dr K Chaudhry

Sorry, I do not want to continue learning importance of appraisal.   And the man continued - Hence this posting!
There will be no deal without appraisal from a trusted source. This simple
rule has saved me a lot of money and time. So I hope you will change your
position. Let's do business the right way.
