An average Indian, or even one with my level of resources (a few crore web pages), has no means to look into foreign accounts of politicians. A technocrat politician, meticulously planning his fund raising, may not leave any clues, and carry the designation of Mr Clean. Corruption should best be sensed, rather than proved or detected. Should a prime minister not be suspected as corrupt when :-
1. his cabinet has well recognised hard core criminals;
2. he tolerates sex racket in every town in the country,
run by a magistrate, a revenue officer, a police officer, a teacher and
a politician;
3. he permits wholesale recruitment of criminals in police,
schools, post offices, municipal services and all such public services,
with bribes funded from underworld;
4. he, and all under him, ignore use of army heaquarter
telephone numbers on letter head of a fraudulent business;
5. he permits corporate banks to have their own way and
exploit public, with no response to public complaints;
6. he ignores gang war within police force, a spurt of
PROVEN cases of framing innocents/encounters, and a police commissioner
involved in serious criminal cases?
Even if I have to admire capabilities of Dr Manmohan Singh in suppressing every evidence against him, I feel he is the most corrupt of all prime ministers in history of India. In the phrase 'most corrupt' I rule out the possibility of any predecessor being clean. I would prefer to keep Rajiv Gandhi and his predecessors outside of the domain of such opinion, as a mark of respect for them.
Rajiv Gandhi replied every letter with signatures in pen. After that, during Devegowda regime, every letter received bonafide administrative attention. Now you inform criminal activities of sensitive nature - the police, the home minister, the prime minister and the concerned depatments are not concerned. BECAUSE every criminal activity is nurtured by these people for monetary gains and your information is not a news to them.

Hence our NATIONAL leaders never wish a tobacco free India. Else, just look at Sikh community. The whole nation can be rendered tobacco-free and alcohol-free. |

I had absolutely no intention to take up the issue this way. What else can I do, if after struggling incessantly for five years, I still receive a call," Main Airtel se Veer bol rahaa hun. What is more alarming is the fact that any change over
of the government is likely to deliver the worse. People in queue are keen
to grab their lifetime quota overnight because tomorrow is uncertain. Let
me review the working of non-congress government :-
1. PROBLEM : Lot of corruption in recruitments.
SOLUTION : Stop recruitments. Freeze number of postings
in every department.
2. PROBLEM : Lot of corruption in construction.
SOLUTION : Stop constructing roads, parks, wells, buildings
3. PROBLEM : Lot of corruption in purchases..
SOLUTION : Stop purchasing equipment, medicines, stationery,
every thing.
AND THE INSIDE STORY
1. Stop paying 7% to chemists for procuring false cash
memos. Just print your cash memos.
2. Stop 20% grabbing from construnction and development.
Construct roads and building on paper only. Repair the nonexisting structures.
Grab absolutely 100%.
3. Make recruitments on paper. Grab 100% salaries.
Now what happens when you go for voting?
You have three choices :-
1. Abstain from voting
2. Vote for a party conducive with development of the
nation but with a jungle rule.
3. Vote for a party aiming at freezed development, freezed
corruption at field level, all grabbing limited to top.
In choosing between the later two I am reminded of a headmaster who transformed a shabby government school into a beautyful model school by soliciting public donations. Decades later I learnt how the headmaster had manipulated funds. He collected donation for a fan from 50 persons and installed 15. It would be more justified to glorify the headmaster for transforming the school and adore furniture, park, swings, radio, loudspeaker at school premises of 1956. Why should we look at ugly side of the story? In politics, the same applies to B. Shankranand. Amoingst all in power, he has made highest contribution to the development of the country. If we probe into ugly side and attempt to punish him, we only distract capable youngsters from joining politics.
Still the question remains whom to vote to power. Surely, we cannot wait for some Ranjit Singh to appear and put all dirty politicians behind bars. Between the two, a noncongress government would lead the country to shambles. Congressmen have stabilized the nation at worst administration level. Nation would gain nothing, giving way to nonadministration.
Concluding congress lot as most suitable to administer the country, let us analyse the way congress can improve administration. As hinted at the beginning, people in power have three objectives - to save government, to look after business interest of family members and to amass wealth abroad. What would happen if congress wins with 80% majority? Free from need to save government, the national leaders would concentrate on building the nation. Because more they develop, more they can pocket. The nation would once again be on tract and some other Rajiv Gandhi, leading the country would reply every letter. A happy indian should forget the other side. A vast country like India would not get poorer if a thousand people siphon away any amount of wealth. If a set of leaders is dedicated to development of the country, let them earn their own way because we would never give them their due in normal course.
Let us make congress party strong enough to choose prime minister without extraneous considerations, to frame policies without extraneous pressures, and to Develop And Earn without fear of sting operations. Congress has been at its worst with 40% seats. Let us risk the nation and reduce the figure to 20%. OR let us extend more support with 80% and see the nation building up again. Let us give benefit of doubt to Dr Manmohan Singh. Perhaps, getting support from bad corners, he could only be a mute spectator of every thing going bad under him.
Razor edge power has been responsible for stooping administration
beyond bottom levels. Indian electrorates should follow All Or None phenomenon.
Just wipe out the party we do not like and give FULL mandate to one we
wish to try. A party with 40-50% mandate would need external support. Underworld
is always keen to amalgamate with power corridors and always willing to
fund horse trading.
